Helmet Hair Be Gone!

If you’ve ever forgone wearing your bike helmet (tisk tisk!!) to preserve your hairdo or because you think it looks dorky to wear one, you might think about investing in a Hovding helmet. The so-called “invisible bike helmet” was created by a Swedish company to offer style-savvy cyclists an alternative to the bulky, sporty helmets that are most widely available.

The Hovding is worn as a collar around the neck, only to inflate into a helmet if you crash your bike. I personally love the way they styled the models and can totally see these helmets being worn all over San Francisco if not for the hefty price tag of 400 Euros (roughly $550 USD).

Do you guys wear bike helmets? Or care how they look? Aside from the vanity aspect, we love the idea of actually being able to stuff this into your bag when you’re not wearing it.

Okay, full disclosure: these last two photos are just for eye candy – I mean, does that guy look like Ryan Gosling, or are we crazy???

Learn more about Hovding here. They even have videos showing how it works, pretty neat!

How to Get Happy on Instagram

Happy Monday everyone! I just wanted to share a couple of Instagram feeds I follow that always bring a smile to my face. The first one is by @ngingi based in Thailand. She posts at least a few adorable little cartoons each day, often with instructions on how to do your own! The other belongs to Gemma Correll (@gemmacorrell), whose graphic style just tickles me pink. I have to admit an unrelenting love for pugs, cats and any kind of animal dressed in costume (hamburger kitty!!!), so while Gemma's posts are less frequent, they always brighten my mood.

I really just love these two because as illustrations they stand out amongst the other beautiful things people share. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!

Are you on Instagram? Let's be friends! I'd also love to hear about the feeds you've been enjoying!

Design Nerd: ReStyle Prints

Anyone who's been to my home knows I'm a sucker for mid-century modern design, so it's no surprise these prints by ReStyle Prints have me drooling. They are the work of Jan Skácelík, a graphic designer / photographer / composer based in Olomouc Czech Republic.

The designs look like they'd fit nicely almost anywhere, and I love the way Jan styled the photos. I've got a few on my wishlist for kitchen decor, and the prices are super gift-able. Check them out on Etsy to find your favorites!
