Blog » Culture Club: Mitra Fabian solo show at Don Soker Contemporary Art Gallery

I caught up with local artist Mitra Fabian for the opening of her most recent solo show, Concentric in downtown San Francisco this weekend. Mitra is a sculptor and installation artist who works with atypical materials such as tape, glue, and various office and scientific products.
Her newest work featured framed sculptures made of repurposed tape and plastic ribbon, a striking installation (her largest to date), several glass sculptures made of pipettes and other science lab supplies, and a new series of drawings.
Mitra is a professor at Sacramento City College, where she teaches sculpture and drawing. Visit her website to learn more and browse photos of past works.
Live in the Bay Area? We encourage you to check out Concentric at the Don Soker Contemporary Art Gallery in downtown San Francisco. The show runs until April 16, 2012. Visit the gallery's website for directions and hours.
